After the laminar structure had formed, the localization of a-FGF became intense in the photoreceptors. TGF-β was strongly positive in the posterior portion of the neural retina and in the photoreceptors. a-FGF and TGF-β tended to be localized on the anterior side of the lens during lens fiber differentiation. After the nucleus of the lens had formed, the nucleus was stained heavily. b-FGF was localized in the nucleus at the stage of nucleus formation. 内容記述 | The localization of acidic fibroblast growth factor (a-FGF), basic fibroblast growth factor (b-FGF) and transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-β) in the retina and lens in the stages of normal embryonic development was immunohistochemically investigated in the Japanese salamander. a-FGF was localized in the neural retina at an early stage but was limited to the posterior pole at a later stage. After the laminar structure had formed, the localization of a-FGF became intense in the photoreceptors. TGF-β was strongly positive in the posterior portion of the neural retina and in the photoreceptors. a-FGF and TGF-β tended to be localized on the anterior side of the lens during lens fiber differentiation. After the nucleus of the lens had formed, the nucleus was stained heavily. b-FGF was localized in the nucleus at the stage of nucleus formation.
