There were 14 boys (junior boys) and 24 girls (junior girls) in primary school and 17 boys (senior boys) and 13 girls (senior girls) in junior high school or senior high school. A significant daily fluctuation in ABPM values in systolic and diastolic blood pressure was observed in all four groups. Only some of the average blood pressure values in three periods (24 hr, daytime from 09:00 to 20:00, and nighttime from 00:00 to 06:00) were positively correlated with anthropometrical values. The average blood pressure values at nighttime were significantly higher in the senior boys than in the junior boys. When the blood pressure values were rearranged in ascending order and the lowest 12 and highest 12 of all 48 values measured every 30 min for 24 hr were used, in contrast to the time series data, significant differences in the bottom and top quartile groups of blood pressure values were found between the junior and senior age groups and between boys and girls.
